Dark Chocolate Almond Rocks

Enjoy gorging on these two ingredient sinful dark chocolate almond rocks , prepared with tempered dark chocolate and toasted almonds, refrigerated until firm and set. #WorldChocolateDay

Cooking Time: 5 Minutes

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 14 rocks

Ingredients and Quantity:

Dark chocolate chopped or chips, with 60 to 70 % Cocoa Solids -1 cup

Almonds, If Small in size use whole /If large in size then chop into chunks and toasted- 1 cup 

Vanilla extract – ½ tsp. (Optional)


Use a double boiler to melt the chopped / chips of dark chocolate.

To the bowl add the chocolate chips and stir regularly with a spatula until the chocolate has melted completely. Remove the bowl from heat and set aside to cool completely.

Once the chocolate has cooled down a little, add the vanilla extract and fold in the toasted almonds.

Ensure that the almonds are evenly coated with the melted chocolate.

Place spoonful’s of this mixture onto a small tray lined with parchment paper / Wax paper and place the tray in the refrigerator until it is firm and set.

Gorge on these rocks or gift them wrapped with colourful chocolate wrappers to your loved ones.

Chef Tips:

You may sprinkle Sea Salt before you consume.

You may flavour the chocolate with various ingredients ,if desired.
