Landa Baguli Dohi Sharbat (Sweet Basil Seeds and Curd Sharbat)

Landa Baguli Dohi Sharbat is an immensely popular refreshing summer drinks of Odisha. A super refreshing and delicious melange of curd and sabza seeds. It is prepared with the humble soaked sweet basil seeds which complements the amazing flavour of the drink, along with whisked curds , sugar and chilled water. Freshly squeezed lemon juice may be added to give it a zesty flavour to it.

Preparation Time-10 minutes

Soaking Time-2 hours

Setting of Curd-Overnight


Ingredients and Quantity:

Landa Baguli Seeds (Sabza Seeds) (Sweet Basil Seeds): 1 1/2 tsp. ( Soak in water for at least 2 hours before preparing Sharbat)

Curd, set at home-1 1/2 cup

Sugar:1/2 cup / or more as desired

Water-as required

Freshly squeezed Lemon juice- 1 1/2 tbsp. (Optional)


To prepare the drink, In a latge clean and dry bowl whisk curd and sugar together.

Ensure that the sugar dissolves completely in the curds.

Add the soaked basil seeds in it

Add water , mix and pour into individual glasses.

You may add freshly squeezed lemon juice for the refreshing zesty flavour.


Chef Tips:

You may add chilled water, if desired.

You may serve the Landa Baguli Dohi Sharbat chilled, if desired.
