Pyaz Da Laccha (Laccha Pyaz) (Punjabi Onion Laccha)

Thin 🧅 rings with a sprinkle of Red chilli powder, chaat masala, rock salt, salt ,fresh cilantro ,green chillies and sprinkled with fresh Lemon Juice🍋

You will find this amazing accompaniment served with Tandoori Chicken , Paneer Tikkas , Chole, Dal Makhani and various other dishes ,on the roadside Dhabas of Punjab. It’s immensely popular in the North of India.

 Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 2

Ingredients and Quantity:

Onion sliced (Rings), thin- 1 cup

Red Chilli powder- 1/4th tsp.

Chaat Masala- 1/4th tsp.

Rock Salt- To taste

Salt- to taste

Green Chillies, slit- 1 no.

Cilantro, finely chopped- 1 tbsp.

Lemon-1

Method 

Place the onion rings in Ice water for 15 minutes.. this gives it the required crisp/ crunch. 

Pat dry the onion rings with a kitchen absorvent paper.

In a small glass bowl prepare a spice-mix with red chilli powder, chaat masala, rock salt and salt.

Now transfer the onion rings in a deep glass salad bowl , add the spice-mix, chopped green chillies & Cilantro. 

Squeeze the lemon.

Give the laccha pyaz a quick toss.

Serve immediately.

Chef Tips:

You may add chopped fresh mint leaves to the salad.
