The very first time I consumed / drank the divine Chabeel was in Nada Sahib Gurudwara in Chandigarh.
Chabeel is the place where one can take water.
It also called Cold Sweet Water, the drink which is served on or during the Shaheedi Diwas (martyrdom) of Fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, during the scorching summer season. In sweltering summers, when people feel very hot and fatigued, Sikhs stand in stalls / roadside to spread love and compassion and pour chilled ‘Chabeel’ in glasses that are distributed with full enthusiasm. During summers, it is a common sight in the Northern parts of India especially Punjab and Delhi, to see multiple stalls set up for distributing Chabeel to the commuters to soothe their parched throats.
