A Scrumptious halwa prepared with Sapota , dried figs and Khoya, flavored with Green Cardamom Powder and garnished with dried slivered almonds and broiled saffron.

Ingredients and Quantity:
Chickoo , large-05 nos.
Dried figs- 01 cup
Clarified Butter- 1 ½ tbsp.
Sugar- 50 gm.
Mawa (khoya) -115 gm.
Full Cream Milk- ½ cup
Green cardamom powder- ¼ th tsp.
Almonds blanched, peeled and slivered- 10 gm.
For the garnish:
Almonds blanched, peeled and slivered- 05 gm
Saffron, broiled- 01 gm.
Method
Peel the Chickoos, mash them completely, keep one chopped finely aside
Heat the clarified butter in a heavy bottomed non-stick pan, add the mashed Chickoos, sauté for 02 minutes, stirring it continuously.
Add the sugar and sauté for 02 minutes. Add grated mawa (khoya) and sauté till it mixes thoroughly for 02 minutes.
Add the milk and cook till the milk is absorbed. Now add blanched in very hot water and chopped anjeer and finely chopped chickoo. Add the slivered almonds, and green cardamom powder and mix well.
Garnish with slivered almonds and broiled saffron.
Serve warm.
Chef Tips:
- You may apply Silver Leaf to the halwa, if desired.
- To further enhance the flavor you may instead of adding 01 cup of blanched and chopped anjeer , you may add ½ cup
