Fruit Salad with Citrus Dressing

Who doesn’t love fruits? This salad is prepared with, papaya, apples, tomatoes, fresh oregano and Lettuce, drizzled with citrus orange juice dressing.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients and Quantity:

Papaya- 01 large

Apples, red with skin- 02 nos.

Tomatoes, red and firm- 02 nos.

Oregano, fresh- 02 sprigs.

Lettuce, torn- 01 small bunch

For the dressing:

Orange juice, fresh- 30 ml

Extra virgin Olive Oil- 15 ml.

Salt- To taste

Sugar- 1/4th tsp

White pepper, freshly ground- 1/4th tsp

 Method:

  1. Peel the papaya and cut into dices
  2. Core and cut the apple without peeling into cubes
  3. Dice the tomatoes
  4. In a small bowl add all the ingredients for dressing and mix well.
  5. In a salad bowl add all the ingredients except the
  6. Just before serving drizzle with the salad dressing and mix well.
  7. Serve

Chef Tips:

  1. You may add organic honey instead of sugar in the salad dressing.
  2. Apply lemon juice / white vinegar to the apples in order to prevent the apples from turning brown and to prevent enzymatic browning.
  3. Do not add the dressing beforehand, as the salad will turn soggy, so I suggest adding the dressing to the salad just before service so that the salad remains fresh and crisp.
