\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation Time:<\/strong> 30 minutes including the time of soaking the Split Moong Dal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking Time:<\/strong> 15 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients and Quantity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Quick Cooking Oats- 1\/3<sup>rd<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Moong dal, split and skinned &#8211; 1\/3<sup>rd<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Cumin seeds- \u00bd tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder- \u00bc th tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Red chilli powder-1\/4 th tsp<\/p>\n<p>Onion, finely chopped- 1 no. small<\/p>\n<p>Tomato pureed &#8211; 1 no. large<\/p>\n<p>Green peas- 45 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Ginger, finely chopped- 3\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp<\/p>\n<p>Green chilles, chopped- \u00bd tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt- to taste<\/p>\n<p>Extra Virgin Olive oil- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Water \u2013 2.5 cups \/ as required<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the Tempering:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Extra Virgin Olive oil- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tbsp..<\/p>\n<p>Mustard seeds- \u00bd tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Whole Red chillies-02 nos.<\/p>\n<p>Asafoetida- a pinch<\/p>\n<p>Garlic, sliced- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Red chilli powder- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp (Optional)<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the garnish:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coriander leaves, fresh, chopped- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pick, wash and soak Split Moong Dal for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan add oil, heat the oil add cumin seeds, let them crackle.<\/p>\n<p>Add chopped onion cook till translucent, add ginger and green chillies, cook for few more seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomatoes let them cook till tender.<\/p>\n<p>Add all the green peas. Add the rinsed moong dal and oats. Saut\u00e9 for few seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Add water.
