Quantity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jackfruit unripe\/ raw- 500 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Refined oil- as required for deep frying<\/p>\n<p>Cumin seeds- \u00bd tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Onion puree- 01 cup<\/p>\n<p>Ginger, grated- 01 tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Garlic, grated- 02 tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Tomato Puree- 02 cups<\/p>\n<p>Red chilli powder preferably Kashmiri- 1 \u00bd tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder- 1\u00a0 1\/2 tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Salt- to taste<\/p>\n<p>Green chillies, slit- 02 nos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the sprinkling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Punjabi Garam Masala- \u00bd tsp<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the Garnishing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coriander Leaves, chopped- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apply oil on your palms.<\/p>\n<p>Keep some oil aside, for cutting the jackfruit, as you will require it to be applied on your palms, while you are in the process of cutting the Jackfruit.<\/p>\n<p>Peel the jackfruit and slice into rounds of desired thickness.<\/p>\n<p>Slice rounds into halves, and remove any thick stem in the centre, before cutting slices into chunks.<\/p>\n<p>Do not wash.<\/p>\n<p>Scrape off the dirt, if any.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a heavy bottomed non-stick kadhai and deep fry the pieces over medium heat, till light brown. Drain and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Use the same oil for the tempering but definitely lesser in quantity.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a heavy bottomed non-stick deep pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add cumin seeds, let them splutter.<\/p>\n<p>Add the onions, ginger and garlic puree. Let it cook till the raw aroma of the onions disappear.<\/p>\n<p>Add the tomato puree and cook till the oil oozes out from the edges of the masala.<\/p>\n<p>Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric.<\/p>\n<p>Stir to mix well. Let it cook for 2 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Add the slit green chillies and deep fried chunks of jackfruit, stir ensuring that you do not spoil the texture of jackfruit.<\/p>\n<p>Add \u00bd cup of water.
