{"id":5457,"date":"2017-09-26T14:26:20","date_gmt":"2017-09-26T14:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/?p=5457"},"modified":"2017-11-22T05:34:40","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T05:34:40","slug":"medu-vada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/2017\/09\/26\/medu-vada\/","title":{"rendered":"Medu Vada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Medu Vadas<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>are a traditional South Indian dish which is crispy delectable and are made with spiced urad dal batter and fried in donut shape dumplings, it can be served as a main course, side dish, or snack accompanied with coconut chutney and sambar. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Soaking Time:<\/strong> 03 Hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking Time:<\/strong> 15 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Makes:<\/strong> 12 Medu Vadas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients and Quantity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Urad dal (Husked and Split Black Gram)-01 cup<\/p>\n<p>Green Chillies, roughly chopped-1\/2 tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Black peppercorns, crushed- 04 nos.<\/p>\n<p>Curry leaves-08 nos.<\/p>\n<p>Ginger, finely chopped-3\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Salt-To taste<\/p>\n<p>Refined oil- as required for deep frying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Clean , wash and soak the dal for 03 hours in enough water.<\/li>\n<li>Drain it and add the chopped green chilles, crushed peppercorn, curry leaves and ginger.<\/li>\n<li>In a blender, make a smooth and thick batter by adding little water.
