{"id":5204,"date":"2017-10-18T15:01:53","date_gmt":"2017-10-18T15:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/?p=5204"},"modified":"2017-11-22T15:59:15","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T15:59:15","slug":"unakka-chemmeen-chammanthi-podi-sun-dried-prawn-chutney-powder-with-coconut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/2017\/10\/18\/unakka-chemmeen-chammanthi-podi-sun-dried-prawn-chutney-powder-with-coconut\/","title":{"rendered":"Unakka Chemmeen Chammanthi Podi (Sun-dried Prawn Chutney Powder with Coconut)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Spicy and very nutty podi from \u201cGod\u2019s Own Country\u201d Kerala, prepared with sun-dried prawns, coconut, peanuts, chillies and tamarind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation Time:\u00a0<\/strong>20 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking\u00a0 time :<\/strong>\u00a015 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves :<\/strong> 12<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level Of Cooking:<\/strong>\u00a0Medium<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cuisine :\u00a0<\/strong>Kerala<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course :<\/strong>\u00a0Pickles, Jams , Chutneys &amp; Condiments<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients and Quantity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dry Prawns -200 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Dry Coconut Powder : 150 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Pea nuts, broiled and peeled \u2013 75 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Whole Red Chillies , stem removed and de seeded: 15 gm \/ as desired<\/p>\n<p>Shallots -08 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Garlic cloves- 06 nos.<\/p>\n<p>Curry leaves -02 sprigs<\/p>\n<p>Tamarind- 25 gm.<\/p>\n<p>Salt- to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wash the dried prawns thoroughly under running water, drain out the excess amount of water.<\/p>\n<p>Let it sun dry to remove all the moisture content in it.<\/p>\n<p>Dry roast the prawns to a light golden brown colour and keep it aside.<\/p>\n<p>Dry roast coconut with garlic, shallots and curry leaves till the coconut turns light golden brown in colour and curry leaves turn very crunchy.<\/p>\n<p>Separately dry roast the tamarind, add the deseeded whole red chillies, salt . Switch off the flame Mix evenly. Now add the peanuts.<\/p>\n<p>Mix all the dry roasted ingredients to the prawns.<\/p>\n<p>Mix all the dry roasted ingredients to the prawns.
