{"id":5184,"date":"2017-09-16T02:47:44","date_gmt":"2017-09-16T02:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/?p=5184"},"modified":"2017-11-22T05:53:03","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T05:53:03","slug":"baked-bhakarwadi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chefreetuudaykugaji.com\/blog\/2017\/09\/16\/baked-bhakarwadi\/","title":{"rendered":"Baked Bhakarwadi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A very popular Maharashtrian spicy tea time snack, \u00a0traditionally \u00a0is deep fried but I have made it a little healthy by changing the technique used for cooking it that is not deep frying but baking them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pre-preparation Time-20-25 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Baking Time- 40-45 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Baking Temperature- 180\u25e6C \/ 360\u25e6F<\/p>\n<p>Makes- 40 small squares<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients and Quantity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For the dough:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whole Wheat flour- \u00bd cup<\/p>\n<p>Semolina-1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Chickpea flour- 01 cup<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder-1\/2 tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Extra Virgin Olive oil- 01 tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Salt- to taste<\/p>\n<p>Water, to knead- as required<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the Filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Poppy seeds, lightly dry roasted- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Sesame seeds, lightly dry roasted \u2013 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Desiccated Coconut, dry roasted till golden brown- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> cup<\/p>\n<p>Ginger, grated- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Green Chilli, coarsely ground- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Coriander Powder- \u00bc th tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Mango powder-1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Garam masala powder- 1\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder- \u00bd tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Cumin powder-1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Carom seeds- \u00bd tsp<\/p>\n<p>Asafoetida \u2013 a pinch<\/p>\n<p>Coriander leaves, chopped- \u00bd tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Mint Leaves, chopped- 3\/4<sup>th<\/sup> tbsp.<\/p>\n<p>Honey- 02 tsp.<\/p>\n<p>Lemon juice- 15 ml<\/p>\n<p>Olive oil- 01 tbsp. for applying on the SS table and palette knife<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a glass bowl combine all ingredients mentioned for the dough and stir well. Add water very little at a time and knead to a firm dough. Cover with a moist muslin cloth and keep aside for some time.<\/p>\n<p>In a mixer, coarsely grind add all the ingredients mentioned in the filling from poppy seeds to mint leaves. Once it is done add lemon juice and honey, mix well and keep aside. Preheat the oven to 180\u25e6 C. Divide the dough into two portions. Apply the stainless steel working table top with oil.<\/p>\n<p>Place 01 portion of dough and roll evenly take square cookie cutters and cut them. Place the filling on each square. With a. oiled palette knife press them so that the filling remains intact.<\/p>\n<p>Now roll the other portion of dough and cut into squares as mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>Place each square on top of the prepared bhakarwadi. Again with an oiled palette knife press them gently<\/p>\n<p>Arrange them\u00a0on a greased baking tray.
